The young Bulgarian mezzo-soprano Salina Alexandrova is notable for her interpretations of operas and concert works ranging from pieces by Händel and Rossini to contemporary music. The multilingual singer has recorded numerous times German, Italian, Russian, French and contemporary masterpieces with the Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio. Her intense performing schedule takes her to some of the most prestigious stages in Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, etc. Over her artistic path, Salina has had the unique opportunity to work with numerous renowned musicians who mentored, inspired and guided her artistic path, such as Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Richard Eyre, Thomas Hampson, Cecilia Bartoli, Silvana Bazzoni, Jendrik Springer, David Aronson, Mirella Freni, Dalton Baldwin, Marijana Mijanovic, Daniel Sarge, Larissa Gergieva, etc. 



In 2013, Salina starts notably her active career as the main heroine, Luise, in the world premiere of the contemporary opera “MarieLuise” by G. Schedelberger, while still being a student at the University of Music and Performing Arts (MDW) in Vienna from where she graduates with distinction. In the same year, she is discovered by “Sic Itur Ad Astra Foundation” Liechtenstein and awarded a scholarship for outstanding talent, continuing her collaboration with the foundation for 4 years. In 2014 she takes part in the production “Manon Lescaut” with Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Richard Eyre and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra at the Easter Festival in Baden-Baden. In 2015 Salina plays the role of the Thief’s Daughter in the production of Anna Netrebko “The Snow Queen” at Esterhazy Palace, Austria which she reprises the next year as well. In 2016 she makes her debut at Wiener Konzerthaus in a gala concert under the patronage of the Director of the Vienna State Opera, Dominique Meyer. The following years are marked by numerous concert appearances at prestigious venues like Munich Residence, Nymphenburg Palace, Herkulessaal, the “Musica Mallorca” festival, etc. In 2017 Salina performs at the season opening of Teatro Principal in Palma de Mallorca under the baton of José María Moreno. In the same year she has the distinction of being invited to perform in concerts at the renowned “Palau de la Musica Catalana” in Barcelona where she sings for three consecutive years in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Her performances draw critical praise and demonstrate that her voice is actively expanding in range and volume. 


In 2019 Salina makes her role debut as Carmen in the homonymous opera by Bizet in Barcelona. She dedicates the time spent in Spain to the further enrichment of her Spanish repertoire, paying special attention to zarzuela and flamenco. The year 2020 commences with the European tour of Barcelona Guitar Orchestra commemorating the 30th anniversary of the ensemble’s formation. Moreover, Salina dedicates the years 2020 and 2021 to intense studio recordings of extensive repertoire with the Bulgarian National Radio (CDs to be released in 2021) as well as to further enrichment of her Baroque repertoire.
